December 2009

December was crazy and fun, but I will be glad when it is over and we can get back to business as usual. Christmas was nice, the kids were happy with their gifts and that was fun for me. I got a new computer and I am excited to start including photos again, the typing is okay but pictures make it so much better. We bought a new truck it was such a good deal we could not pass it up. The dodge was getting too many miles and we just did not want to keep fixing it. Jaycee and I will have fun driving the new ford around to horse shows and stuff.
Riley went to Florida with the wrestling team he got to spend a lot of time at Walt Disney World and places even though he got homesick he said that he enjoyed the time there, but was glad to be back home where there are mountians and snow.
Jaycee and Broc are excited for basketball to start it is fun to go and watch them play. Ashtyn is getting so big he will be three this year, my babies are growing up and I love watching them. I hope 2010 will be great but who knows we will see what happens. Happy New Year to you all!!!

November

Well it is time once again to sum up the month! I often wonder where did the month go, it seems as if I was just blogging. Anyway, this month was AJay's birthday I got him tickets to Rodney Carrington and we went and seen him in concert we had a good time.
It was also Riley's 15th birthday he and I spent the day together on his birthday, we went to the 2A football state championship game then out to lunch, then to the mall. We had a great time and I most certainly loved spending the day with him. He got his driving permit, yes I said driving permit. They take the written part and then have to drive with the parents for 40 hours. He is a pretty good driver other than he gets a little nervous at times. Jaycee had a band concert that we went to she plays the clairnet she really likes it. Thanksgiving was yummy of course and it was good to see family. I love shopping with Aunt Dolores and Heidi on Black Friday, this year I let Jaycee go, she said "well I do need to know what it is all about before I get big." I guess now she knows how grouchy some people can be. Well I gotta go for now, I can't wait for Christmas!!!

Happy Holidays!!

October 2009

The month of October was very annoying to say the least, all of the kids got some kind of sickness. Riley started out with the dreaded swine flu, I was real worried about him because they say if you have an under lying condition that it could be real bad, he has asthma so I took him to the health center and they gave him tamiflu and told him not to go anywhere for at least a week, I had him stay at my mom's in hopes that it would not spread to the other kids. He finally got better and went back to school. Broc then got the same thing he was home from school for about 5 days. Jaycee had some stomache bug, then Ashtyn got the croup real bad, one night his air way closed off for a second that was real scary so we went to Salt Lake to Primary Children's but by the time we drove there he had fallin asleep and I did not feel like we needed to go so we truned around and took him home, the doctor put him on more steriods and I think he finally got better. Earlier in the month Ashtyn got the stitches out of his fingers they look so good he healed real well, the best part was he did not even cry or nothing when they took them out he was such a big boy. The freshman foot ball team won all of their games for the season the boys did a great job!!! They are now ready for a break. The kids had a good fun for Halloween. Jaycee was a doctor, Broc was the scream thing, and Ashtyn was a lion. They got a ton of candy! yum.

September

I know that this is the short way of writing on a blog a month at a time, but that is all I have time for right now. My computer is still on the fritz and needs some serious attention, but my life's schedule just does not allow for me time to get it fixed, I think I will put that on my priorty list so that I can add some pictures to my boring blog.
Anyway it snowed this week and it was real cold on Wednesday. I had to go be in the consession stands at the football game there was snow on the field and I was frozen by the time I got home. The Freshman team has so far won all of their games and they don't just win by a little the stomp the heck out of the teams, by half time they are so far ahead that it is boring to watch. Most of the boys have played together since they were in 3rd grade and they have always been told that they will be state champions when they are seniors. I guess playing all of those bigs kids really paid off. Riley has two games left for this season.
Jaycee rode in her last parade and rodeo in September she had a great time being the Jr Princess for Summit County. She is busy now keeping on top of her lessons and she is doing a pretty good job of it so far.
Broc is liking the second grade and enjoys everything else, he is such a good boy.
As for Ashtyn if you have not already heard, he had a run in with the blender and went spent 5 hours at the new hospital in Park City in the ER. Luckily he did not chop any of his fingers off it was just the top of one and the back of the other, no nail beds or bones were hurt. He did get 8 stitches total, I told AJay that the worst part is still to come. That is convincing Ashtyn that it is okay to take the stitches out. He has been a pretty good patient so far though. Well until next time, Happy Trails.......

August

August was a crazy month, Jaycee turned 11 but she did not get to have a party at home because we spent the whole week at the Summit County Fair. Broc rode a calf at the Little Buckaroo Rodeo I think it surprised him when he got bucked off, hopefully he wants to do it again but I dodn't know if that will happen. Jaycee had fun handing out the prizes for the little sheep riders, they were so dang cute!!!! She did a wonderful job at the grand entries and being on PCTV for an interview. We took the lambs down and weighed them in, the kids done a great job with their animals and were glad to sell them. Now they can do their books and stuff to actually get their checks, I think I will let them spend a bit and save the rest for when they get older. Thanks to the New West Country Store (Vern), Webster Construction (Rusty) and Grandma and Grandpa Atkinson for buying the lambs and supporting the kids at the fair. School started and I am so glad. Broc is in 2nd, Jaycee in 6th, and Riley in 9th. Riley is playing freshman football, so it will be fun to go to the high school and watch him play.

July

Whew, that was crazy!! Where should I start, the 4th of July was fun Jaycee was in two parades, one in Oakley and the other in Henefer. At the Oakley parade a girls horse died and so the parade got started late. Jaycee had fun even though it was a little warm. After the Oakley parade her horse was lame on his hind foot so we ran home and caught Sisco and took him just in case. When we got to Henefer Jacket was real lame so she had to ride Sisco in the parade, it was his first parade and they done very well. We went to the Oakley Rodeo with the Marchant Family, thanks to Bradley and Kathy for buying the tickets for us we had a fun time. Riley was working in the chutes for the Oakley Rodeo's he had a good time doing that. Riley went to a camp at Strawberry, then he went to Moab with the FFA and then to Youth Conference in Vernal, he had a good time. The kids showed their lambs at the Kamas Valley Livestock Show they did a good job for their first time. For showmanship they each got a blue ribbon, for fitting Riley got a red ribbon, and Jaycee's lamb got a blue ribbon. Jaycee rode in her first Rodeo for the Grand Entry she enjoyed that and looked way cute besides. August is going to be fun!!!!!

June

Well June came and went the kids are busy with their lambs and they are growing well, it has been fun to watch them grow and watch the kids with them learning how to make them lead, a little frustrating but fun. Jaycee is the Summit County Little Buckaroo Jr Princess we are going to have so much fun going to parades and rodeos. With the lambs, rodeos, baseball, 4-H, cows, work, and whatever else we can find to do I am sure we will be ready for winter just so we can relax.

May 2009

Okay, Okay... I know that I am really bad at keeping this caught up. So here is an entry for May so far. Soccer is finally over for the season, yipee!!! The kids had a good time playing and the weather was even good for all of the games, some were cold but they were dry. I had a birthday this month, sometimes I think how did I get so old. I guess that is just what happens, it was a good birthday. Broc cut me a slice of pie and used a match for a candle and he sung happy birthday to me, it was so cute. On mother's day we went to East Canyon and took the cows up there, I told AJay that since it was mother's day I was taking all the kids with us. It was a good day the kids were pretty good for the most part. Jaycee made me a cute vase at school, Broc made a cute picture with flowers on it. The kids and AJay also gave me a really nice set of ear rings with a matching necklace, I am so lucky to have them. I love you guys, thanks so much.

Today my Aunt Dolores got married at the Salt Lake Temple she married Kent Mansell. AJay and I went down to the temple and went to a lunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was very nice to see a lot of my cousins and see my dear Aunt be so happy. She has been so great with all of us that it was nice to see her smiling and knowing that she will have someone with her for time and all eternity. Congratulations Aunt Dolores and "Uncle" Kent. Sure do love you guys!!!!!

April Showers

Well I thought I better write on here since it is the middle of April and I have not added anything new for almost a month. Last week the kids were out of school for spring break, I took the week off of work to be home with them. It was a fun to spend the time with them. One day I had to take them to the dentist which was not too fun for them. On Thursday we went up to Logan to my sister in laws house for "girls day" it was fun to get together with most everyone. On Saturday Jaycee, Ashtyn and I went to Walmart, the Easter Bunny was there, Jaycee wanted Ashtyn to see him, but Ashtyn would not have anything to do with him. Ashtyn cried and screamed that the Easter Bunny is mean, so you better watch out. We dyed some eggs to hide, oh how much fun was that. I like Easter it means that spring should be here, of course the weather is crazy one day it is nice and warm, next it is cold and snowing, I hope April showers means May flowers. Our little claves look so sad when they are wet and cold, hopefully they are all strong and can hold out for the sunshine. I am saving to buy a new camera so I can get some pictures on here, but it may take some time.

Fun Day

Yesterday was a pretty fun day. Jaycee and I went to Salt Lake we had fun just being together. We went and got our hair cut, had lunch and brought a few outfits. It was really fun to be with my girl. She only got upset with me one time when I wouldn't spend $8.00 on a chocolate covered strawberry. I told her I could buy 3 boxes of strawberries and the chocolate for that much. She finally got over it. Riley went to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, so he was gone from home, Broc hung out with AJay and did boy stuff and Ashtyn went to grandma's and played. Today we went to church and then Riley and Jaycee went with Grandpa and Grandma Marchant to the Temple Dedication.

Spring is here and it is fun to see the new little baby animals. We have lots of new calves and a couple of little chicks. We had one cow last week have a set of twins. I broke my camera so I can't take any pictures, I am going to call and see if it is worth fixing or if I should just buy a new one. I guess we will see what happens there. Well it is getting late and I better get off to bed so I can get up to go to work.

Happy Birthday Ashtyn

This is my little tiny baby "2" years ago. I can hardly believe that it has been two years. Ashtyn Jay Marchant was born March 14, 2007. I was in lobor with him forever, I didn't think that he would ever get here. He was stubborn then and he still is stubborn now imagine that. Today was Saturday and so I didn't have to work.
I love it when I don't work on their bithdays, we just hung out at home and went and visited Great Grandma next door. We bought him a litte tyrke for his birthday so he can ride with the big kids of course. He loves it so much. He got lots of presents and I made him a cute cake, all in all it was a great day. Other than I took some pictures of him earlier with my camera and I dropped it now it will not work. So I guess I am without a camera for awhile. I went and borrowed my mom's before we cut his cake so hopefully I will be able to download them. Happy Birthday to my Angel Boy Asthtyn, I love you!!!

Priesthood

Today Riley was finally ordained a teacher in the priesthood. We did not attend church to often last year and so he had to wait awhile. Grandpa Marchant ordained him today in teachers quorum this afternoon, it was really nice of him to come to our church to give Riley the blessing. Grandma Marchant, Rachel, and Great Grandma Elaine were there as well. Riley and I really appreciate everyone that supports him. I am so very thankful that we have someone close to call to give him these priesthood blessings as Riley gets older. I am proud of Riley and the choices that he makes to attend his meetings and strive to live the gospel, even if I push him a little to do so. He has many examples on the Marchant side that he looks up to and it is such a blessing to me that they are there to be an example. Riley is such a good boy and I love him so much I can hardly believe that he is fourteen. I hope that he chooses to stay close to his Heavenly Father so that he can always have the priesthood in his life. Keep up the good work son in all that you do and remember what I always say, remember who you and and where you came from.

Happy Valentines Day

I had a really nice Valentine's Day, because it was on Saturday this year it was great and did not feel rushed to get things done for my family. I stayed home with the AJay and the kids most of the day. The kids done their chores which I really appreciated. For breakfast I made them waffles, with strawberry syrup and whipped cream, eggs and bacon, it was way yummy. For dinner I made filet mignon, shrimp, king crab legs, roll, baked potato and broccoli, and for a special treat I dipped strawberries in chocolate, for the kids and I. AJay got a plate of rice krispy treats, cause he doesn't care for chocolate. I am sure I will pay for all of the calories later but it tasted so good. I love my family so much and I was glad that I had the whole day to be with them and told each one of them that I wanted them to be my Valentine. Here are some pictures of the meals that I made.....

Happy Valentines Day to everyone, hopefully it was enjoyable for you all.

Utah State Jr High Wrestling Tournament

Last weekend, Riley, my dad and I went to Richfield to the Jr. High School State Wrestling Tournament. Riley started wrestling about a month ago and has learned quite alot. He has improved a great deal, he did not do very well at the state tournament, but at least he went. Riley's football coach wanted him to wrestle and do other things during the year to stay in shape and improve his body strength for football. So the wrestling coach talked him into wrestling, it is a tough sport and I just encourge him to keep at it. I am so proud of him for giving it a good shot and going up against all those kids, most of which has been wrestling since they were tiny. Keep up the good work and keep trying.

Retirement Party

Today was quite the day at work, we had a retirement party for my boss Judge Lynn Sadler retired today. We had an open house for him and many people attended. When it was over and he was getting ready to leave the Justice Center it was bitter sweet. I am going to miss him so much. He is a very kind and understanding person and an Awesome Judge. Good luck to him, his wife and family.

We don't have a new judge yet though so things are going to be a little hecktic until they find someone to fill his spot. We will be using fill in judges for a while. It is going to be really crazy.

January update

Well it is the middle part of January 2009. I am still trying to get things done at home. I guess it is an on going project a work in progress. We lost another dog this past week. On mother border collie Missy got ran over. It was a sad time once again at our house, silly dog just went out in the road in the middle of the night. We still have one of her pups her name is Sage she is a good dog, we do miss our other dogs though. Jaycee told me that she wanted to move that she did not want to live near the highway anymore, but I told her that we had to live here and we just need to think about the good times with our good dogs.

Riley has been wrestling he is pretty tough. He started a couple of weeks ago even though the season is nearly over. He is having a good time and can't wait to learn enough moves that he can actually pin someone. His coach says he is going to be really good if he just stays with it. His football coach is real happy to see him out there. State is the end of January in Richfield so we will be going down there to attend.

Jaycee had her first basketball game today she had a real good time out there, she likes basket ball. Broc and Ashtyn are having fun watching the kids in their sports. Maybe they are learning lots of stuff for when they are old enough. Well that is about all that is going on around here. Hope all is going well for everyone.

Cold, Snow, and Sports

Well it is snowing again, but I will take the snow over the bitter cold any day. This past weekend it was 18 below that is way cold and it cuts right through you. Broc has been having tons of fun on his sled he plays and plays with it. He and Jaycee went over to my consins house and they pulled them behind the snowmobile and had a good time. Ashy says the snow is to cold for him, he likes to touch it for a minute, but then his hand gets to cold and he doesn't like it to much. Jaycee is starting Jr Jazz this week she is looking forward to using the skills that Aunt Ali taught her at basketball camp. She will be way good. Broc can not wait til he is old enough to play. Riley has been wrestling and he is enjoying it, but I am not sure why. He thinks that it is fun, I guess it keeps him in shape for his number one love (football)!!!!

From: Broc is having fun at school with his friends that are Ethan S., Hunter A. and Malaki C. Broc is way excited for his seventh birthday which is February 26th. jghjgj by Broc ;)

January 2008

I have decided to try the blogspot instead of the free webs. I see how most people use blogspot and I like the way that it looks. I am going to see of I can transfer my other blog materials to this site and close the other one. Today I have been cleaning up a huge mess that has just been taking over my dining area. Our house is a little small for us and so tons of things just get put in a pile and over the time the pile has just grown out of control. I decided that with the new year strarting that it is a good as time to tackle this project. I am so scared to throw away anything just on the chance that I might need it, but here I go. I vist the Flylady website a lot and I need to take her advice and hope it will make our home life a little brighter. I wish I had tons of time to devote on my house, but I guess a little time each day is better than nothing. I started painting our living room last November I have many projects at home going all at one time, I must be crazy. Wish me luck it my new tasks.
